Affordable day care is a necessity for low income family's. Parents are going broke trying to pay for their child to attend day care. "In many instances, the cost of child care can exceed the cost of college tuition. Many families, however, cannot afford the cost of care on their own" said the Child Care Service Association. There are some places that can help pay for child care, but the process is long and hard. Another part of affordable day care is it also needs to be a safe, clean and enough teachers in the room to address and meet all the kids needs. North Carolina is one of the better states because its easier to get financial support but it's still bad. North Carolina is increasing in population every day and the demand for day care is more then they can handle, therefor the price of daycare continues to rise. North Carolina has a increasing demand and an increasing price of day care. In wake county you can donate to many places. Wake county has really expensive childcare and it's hard to get enough support to afford it. We need to raise awareness of this issue because its continuing to grow and we need to donate money to the organizations that provide the necessary financial support. Yesterday I did this program in social studies and we had to buy a house and food and childcare and everything you would need to support a family and my childcare bill was more than my mortgage, and I had to take loans and still could barley afford childcare. This is a very serious issue! If you look closely you will see raleigh is not doing to well on the chart belowOver-crowded classrooms Over crowded classrooms are a growing issue. If there are to many kids in a room then the teacher is not able to help the other students reach their best selfs. Wake county doesn't have the money to build a school. About one of three schools in County is over capacity, and the school system has estimated that it needs to build about three schools a year to accommodate the growing student population. In some of my classes there are so many kids that the teacher can't address all the students and there needs. A conversation that has recently started is capping schools (capping is when they only allow a certain number of students attending). One of my concerns about capping, is where is the county going to put the students that were going to attend the school that got capped? If they put them into another school then that becomes over crowded. Decisions to build schools are made by voters and I can help by raising awareness. I can make signs and send letters to raise awareness.
